Epithermal gold deposits formed in Late Paleozoic volcanic formations are considered to be an important type of mineralization newly found in northern Xinjiang. By analyzing and comparing the chemical compositions of host volcanic rocks, REE patterns, sulfur, hydrogen, and oxygen and strontium isotopic composition of ore, as well as fluid inclusion composition, with those of some epithermal gold deposits in northern Xinjiang, the authors discuss the preliminary metallogeno-geochemical characteristics and point out some differences in metallogeno-goechemical characteristics of epithermal gold deposits in northern Xinjiang and eastern China.
