A large tumor of the left ventricular myocardium was found in a 5-year-old boy who died suddenly after a minimal effort. Macroscopical-ly and histologically, it appeared to be a fibroma probably originating from primitive cardiac mesenchyme and showing secondary fibroblastic differentiation, with slow growth surrounding the myocytes.
