A serious virus disease on plums in Jugoslavia

A serious virus disease on plums in Jugoslavia

Tijdschr Plantenziekten 62(2): 56-59

Plum pox (Sarka) is a virus disease occurring rather widely in Jugoslavia. As the number of diseased trees in an orchard has not increased during 17 years, it is unlikely that an aphid is the vector. Propagation of plums by suckers from diseased trees will disseminate the virus. The loss of fruit is the principal effect of the disease, but a tree may remain symptomless in certain years.
