50 crossbred pigs ((LW x L) x BL) were divided into three groups. The pigs were fed ad libitum compound feeds containing 15.5-13.5% protein and 0.80-0.60% lysine during the two subperiods of fattening, respectively. The metabolizable energy in the compound feeds increased in the order groups from 13.60 to 14.50 and 15.39 during the first subperiod and from 13.60 to 14.08 and 14.50 during the second subperiod.
