Abstract
Defibrinated blood is mixed with about 2000 staphylococci/ml. and with corresponding dilution of the chemical to be tested. A drop is observed under the microscope between 2 slides. Most antiseptics in small concentrations were more toxic to leucocytes than to bacteria. Antibiotics and chemotherapeutics did not alter leucocytic function but decreased bacterial growth.
