Aggressivity, competitive ratio and relative crowding coefficient of wheat and Indian mustard in mixed and intercropping systems

In a 2-year experiment at Pantnagar, Indian mustard (Brassia juncea (L.) Czernj. and Cosson) was found dominant, and wheat (Triticum aestivum L. emend. Fiori and Paol.) crop dominated, as judged by the values of aggressivity, competitive ratio and relative crowding coefficient. These values of Indian mustard increased with increase in the proportion of wheat in seed mixture and row combination. The highest aggressivity (3.105), competitive ratio (5.455) and relative crowding coefficient (8.105) were found in seed mixture of both the crops in 84 : 16 ratio. The aggressivity values of wheat were negative in all the mixed and intercropping systems. The values of crowding coefficient were lt 1.
