Air treatment previous to the anaerobic degradation of organic fraction of solid urban waste products - a comparative study

Air treatment previous to the anaerobic degradation of organic fraction of solid urban waste products - a comparative study

Revista De Ciencia Y Tecnologia: 10b, 47-53

The purpose of this study was to characterize the leachate from the municipal solid wastes (MSW) organic fraction under two different anaerobic conditions, without prior stabilization and with aerobic pre-treatment. The comparative study of the settlement and the stability achieved by the waste residue mass was also carried out. The waste was separated into 2 fractions, half of the waste was treated in an anaerobic reactor (R1) and the remaining entered an aerobic reactor (R2).
