Amino acid transport by the small intestine of the rat. Evidence against interactions between sugars and amino acids at the carrier level

Amino acid transport by the small intestine of the rat. Evidence against interactions between sugars and amino acids at the carrier level

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta 156(1): 192-194

Intestinal transport of sugars and amino acids is Na dependent and mutual inhibition of this transport can be demonstrated between members of these 2 groups. These observations led to the proposal of a common carrier for the 2 groups.
