Abstract
The present study was taken up to isolate, characterize and identify the purple non-sulfur bacteria of different waste waters in and around Hyderabad. Industrial waste waters contain large amounts of organic substances, a potential source of growth substrates for purple non-sulfur bacteria. The proliferation of such bacteria helps remove the toxic organic compounds from the effluents, there by purifying them.
