Combining ability analysis for yield and its components in pearl millet

Line x tester analysis involving 11 randomly taken male sterile lines and five pollinators in pearl millet was attempted. General combining ability effects of 16 parents and specific combining ability effects of 55 hybrids were estimated for nine morphological characters. Female parent Pb 317 A proved to be good general combiner for ear length as well as ear girth.
