Field experiments were conducted for two years in sandy loam soils to study the effect of irrigations and nitrogen on seed yield, uptake, recovery and nitrogen use efficiency of radish (Rephanus sativus L.) grown for seed production. Application of nitrogen beyond 75 kg ha-1 did not increase the yield significantly, while N uptake was maximum at 100 kg ha-1 (the highest dose tried) under higher irrigations. Maximum nitrogen recovery and N use efficiency were obtained with the application of 75 kg N ha-1 and irrigating crop at IW/CPE ratio of 0.9. The N use efficiency decreased with successive increase of nitrogen doses under scanty irrigations.
