Effect of zeolite on the performance of seeds during storage I Dolichos , soybean and forage sorghum

During 10 months of storage, the effect of mixing 25 and 50 g of zeolite (0.5 mm) per kg of dolichos, soybean and forage sorghum seed on percentage germination and rotten seeds was studied in a completely randomized design. Dolichos was the seed most indifferent to the treatments, but sorghum and soybean germination was significantly higher after 4 months, in the seeds mixed with mineral zeolite. At 10 months the soybean seed has practically lost germination in all treatments. Zeolite significantly reduced the percentage of rotten seeds, mainly in soybean and sorghum. These effects are recommended to be studied in the storage of greater volumes of seeds with the proportion of 25 g of zeolite per kg seed for a wide range of species of commercial interest.
