Field trials conducted at the Trial-cum-Demonstration Farm, Repoli (Maharashtra) from 1988-89 to 1990-91 to findout suitable irrigation schedule, planting layout and weed control measures for summer groundnut revealed that irrigation scheduling at 1.00 IW/CPE ratio, sowing on broad bed and furrows and maintaining weed free condition throughout the growth period of groundnut proved significantly superior in increasing dry pod yield. However, the crop planted on broad bed and furrow, irrigated at five critical growth stages (preflowering, flowering pegging, pod formation and pod filling) and kept weed free gave maximum net returns (Rs. 11640/ha) and highest Benefit:Cost ratio (2.41) with saving in irrigation water to the tune of 42% as compared to that of irrigation scheduled at 1.00 IW/CPE ratio.
