Enteritis associated with Lawsonia intracellularis and porcine circovirus type 2 infection in wild boars in Southern Brazil

Enteritis associated with Lawsonia intracellularis and porcine circovirus type 2 infection in wild boars in Southern Brazil

Ciencia Rural: 9, 2540-2544. Ef

56 out of 1250 wild boars in a commercial herd were affected by anorexia, diarrhoea, and wasting. The necropsied pigs had enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes, thickened ileal wall, and had white-yellowish ileal content. Histopathological lesions showed epithelial hyperplasia of ileal crypts, moderate decrease in goblet cell density, lymphohistiocytic infiltrate in the lamina propria, and moderate depletion and histiocytic infiltrate in Peyer's patches.
