Plants in the Northern Marianas Islands traditionally used for medicinal purposes were studied. Three island locations (Saipan, Rota and Tinian) that were highly significant in terms of biodiversity and usage by local communities were selected. The people in the community were interviewed on how they use various plants for medicinal purposes. Sixty-six plants were identified for their medicinal values and cultural uses.
