The pathogenicity of 97 single-spore isolates of M. grisea collected from the main rice growing regions of Fujian province, China, to rice cultivars (including six CO39 near-isogenic lines or NILs) was evaluated from 2003 to 2006. The M. grisea isolates belonged to 14 pathogenic types. The dominance type and sub-dominance type were 134.1 and 135.1, recording virulent frequencies of 51.96 and 60.23%, respectively, to the 8 main cultivars from Fujian.
