Abstract
Recent discoveries of Selidosema brunnearium (VILLERS, 1789) during the last years which included first records for Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt stimulated a documentation of the present distribution in Brandenburg and the Oberlausitz (list of all known localities and distribution map). The species is stenotopous and restricted to heathlands; its biology and ecological requirements are described. Possibilities for the protection of the strongly endangered S. brunnearium are also discussed.
