Rhizoctonia solani Epidemiology in potato crops of Mendoza province and its relation with early treatments to control in potato seed tuber

Rhizoctonia solani Epidemiology in potato crops of Mendoza province and its relation with early treatments to control in potato seed tuber

Revista de la Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias Universidad Nacional de Cuyo 25(1-2): 7-15

The tuber infection caused by Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn in potatoes grown in soils with low level of infectivity takes place mainly during the storage period. The control products were applied before the storage in two powdery and six liquid treatments. The results of the treatments were evaluated after 1 week, 10 and 28 weeks in storage. The pathogen was not destroyed completely by the treatments but the inoculum reduction was significant with Benomyl + Mancozeb in powder. The use of liquid products increased the tuber rotting, but we had good results with Captan and Iprodiona. The evaluation of the phytotoxicity of the products, gave with formalin a depressive effect on the growth.
