Seed predation on Allagoptera arenaria OKuntze by Pachymerus nucleorum Fabricius

Predation on Allagoptera arenaria seeds by P. nucleorum was studied from September 2003 to September 2005 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The biology and behaviour of P. nucleorum on A. arenaria were also investigated. Fruits found beneath 50 palms were collected monthly for each one of the two sampled areas (ridge forest and Clusia open shrubland formation).
