Abstract
Predation on adult tiger beetle (Cicindela campestris olivieria Brulle, 1832, Coleoptera, Cicindelidae) by a robber fly (Laphria sp.: Diptera Asilidae) is reported and photographically documented. On this occasion, all the entomological literature is reviewed and all records are reported of similar known instances of predation (or predatory attempts) by a robber fly on tiger beetle. Such an analysis suggests that robber flies may be considered to be more or less regular predators of adult tiger beetles.
