Abstract
The research on the hydrolysate conditions of corncob hemicellulosic have been done, and the optimum hydrolysate conditions were ascertained: the corncob with a ratio of 1: 6 w/v (dry basis), low pressure, 120 degrees C, time of hydrolysate was 2 h, 1.5 % H2SO4. Then, study on fermentation processes for xylitol production using corncob hemicellulosic hydrolysate also have been done, and obtained the optimum conditions: the initial pH was 7.5, the maximum amount of culture medium was 70 % of the flask volume, inoculum size was 10%, the culture temperature was 28 degrees C.
