The effect of supplemental ascorbic acid on the development of Newcastle disease in Japanese quail exposed to high ambient temperature

The study was conducted to determine the development of Newcastle Disease (ND) in Japanese quail subjected to high ambient temperature with or without ascorbic acid (AA) supplementation (1000 mg/kg feed). 80 Japanese quails, 3 weeks old, were randomly allotted to four equal groups. Two groups were kept at room temperature (26+or-0.5<sup>degrees</sup>C) with one supplemented with AA (R<sub>A</sub>) and the other receiving no AA (R<sub>O</sub>).
