The study of chloroform levels during water disinfection by chlorination reference to health risk in drinking water of Karachi

The study of chloroform levels during water disinfection by chlorination reference to health risk in drinking water of Karachi

Science International (lahore): 2, 111-116

This study examines the levels of the chloroform formation during water disinfection treatment by chlorination with the subsequent formation of byproducts such as trihalomethanes (THMs). THMs in drinking water samples are found in the form of chloroform, bromodichloromethane, chlorodibromomethane and bromoform. Out of these four compounds chloroform is the major culprit and contributes 90% of the total THMs concentration.
