Vegetative and reproductive behaviour of the Suncrest peach variety depending on spacing and spindle training system

During the period of 1999-2005, the vegetative and reproductive behaviour of peach Suncrest on peach seedling rootstock at different planting densities were investigated at the Sliven Experimental Peach Field. The following planting distances were studied: 4 x 1.5; 4 x 2; 4 x 2.5 m in trees trained as spindles, with summer pruning. The most suitable spacing was 4 x 2 m until the fifth year after planting.
