The communication is the first attempt in the study of the hematozoan parasites of wild birds from Bulgaria. In 63 passeriform birds from 11 species, 9 blood protozoan parasites from genera Plasmodium, Haemoproteus, Leucocytozoon, Hepatozoon and Trypanosoma are established. High prevalence of Plasmodium and Trypanosoma (9.5%) is of interest.
