Estimation of gene effects for yield and fibre quality characters in inter-varietal crosses of upland cotton

The objective of the study was to estimate gene effects in three inter-varietal crosses of upland cotton by generation mean analysis. In cross-1, epistasis was present for seed cotton yield, bolls per plant and 2.5 per cent span length, while additive-dominance model was adequate for boll weight and ginning outturn.
