Integrated effect of organic and inorganic sources of nutrients on turmeric Curcuma longa







A field experiments was carried out during kharif2009 and 2010 at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kandhamalto study the integrated effect of organic and inorganic fertilizer on growth, yield, economics of turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) and soil health. The results revealed that plant height, leaves/plant, tillers/plant, leaf area index, number of fingers/plant and rhizome weighVplant were recorded significantly higher with integrated effect of 75% NPK+FYM @10Vha+Zn @ 5 kglha+B @ 3 kglha+biofertilizers @ 6 kg/ha. This treatment also resulted in significantly higher fresh and dry rhizome yield, and curcumin content and improvement in soil health parameters. Higher net retum (2,11,595) and benefit: cost ratio (2.68) were also reaped under the same treatment.
