GNS Science Report: 111



Clastic Paleogene reservoir systems are likely to be targets for future carbon dioxide sequestration across the onshore Taranaki region, New Zealand. These potential reservoir formations include the Middle to Late Eocene Mangahewa Formation, latest Eocene McKee Formation and the Oligocene Tariki Sandstone Member of the Otaraoa Formation. We systematically review these reservoirs providing details on the depositional environment, lateral continuity of reservoir and intraformational seal/baffle units, net gross, thickness and reservoir quality.
