Effects of Eucalyptus species to the behaviour and survival of Atta laevigata F. and of Atta sexdens rubropilosa Forel were described as a function of reactions caused by this plant genus to ant workers in the laboratory. It was verified that Eucalyptus nova-anglica, E. maculata, E acmenioides, E. grandis, E. deanei and E. citriodora, showed strong noxious effects to A. laevigata; the three first species showed similar strong effects to A. sexdens rubropilosa.
