Bombecia puella, sp. nov. from southwestern Slovakia, is proposed and described. The species is illustrated, and characteristic features and differential diagnosis are presented. B. puella is distinguished from the closely related B. megillaeformis (Hubner, 1813) by a reduction in the border field of the anterior wing, the female by the coloration of the labial palps, the first hips, the tibia and the ringing of the abdomen. Astragalus glycyphyllos is the food plant.
