Can hunting be incorporated in management plans for protected natural areas in Europe? Y-a-t-il une integration possible de la chasse dans les plans de gestion des espaces naturels proteges en Europe?

, : Can hunting be incorporated in management plans for protected natural areas in Europe? Y-a-t-il une integration possible de la chasse dans les plans de gestion des espaces naturels proteges en Europe?. Gibier Faune Sauvage. Juin; 142: 163-173

Hunting and protected areas may, at first sight, appear contradictory. Hunting is a leisure activity based on a possible sustainable use of resources, whereas protection of the natural heritage is an activity of public interest with a national, sometimes an international, dimension. How do protected area managers tackle use or non-use through hunting in wetland management throughout Europe? Case studies will be presented showing the large variety of sites and experiments carried out What strategies and policies are applied by the different management bodies in relation to hunting and protected areas in Europe? What place can hunting activity have in the various types of use of natural areas?
