Can information about the distribution of selected caddisflies in Schleswig-Holstein/Germany help to implement the EU-Water Framework Directive?

, : Can information about the distribution of selected caddisflies in Schleswig-Holstein/Germany help to implement the EU-Water Framework Directive? Lauterbornia. 10 August; 54: 135-143

The quality assessment of water bodies for the implementation of the Water Framework Direktive is based on the ecological indication of macrozoobenthos. As an example we show the distribution of some indicative caddisflies in Schleswig-Holstein/Germany, namely Hydropsyche saxonica, Brachycentrus subnubilus, Brachycentrus maculatus, Goera pilosa, Lithax obscures, Silo pallipes, Silo nigricornis and Odontocerum albicorne. The distribution is mapped based on river landscape types.
