The distribution of Limnoperna fortunei (Dunker, 1857), invasive bivalve from southeast Asia, present at Rio Grande do Sul State since 1998 is mapped based on field expeditions made on Uruguai River, Guaiba Lake, Patos Lagoon basins and Jaguarao River from Mirim Lake basin. Data on the density of adult specimens per m2, the presence and absence of larvae, some physical and chemical parameters, comments and illustrations on environmental damages and economic impacts are presented.
