Preliminary results concerning the application of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) on the harpacticoid copepod Tigriopus fulvus are reported. DSC analysis performed using cultured and natural females showed complex reproducible curves with high exothermic peaks between 180deg. C and 600deg. C. Numerous overlapping peaks were observed at temperatures ranging from 400deg. C to 600deg. C.
