From the tactile sensillum chaeticum to the hygroreceptive sensillum styloconicum on the antennae of Lepidoptera De la sensille chetiforme tactile a la sensille styloconique thermo-hygroreceptrice des antennes de Lepidopteres

Based on the external fine structure, it is suggested than an evolutionary relationship exists between aporous sensilla chaetica and aporous sensilla styloconica on the antennae of Lepidoptera. Among Micropterigidae. a transient form between the two sensilla is described in Micropterix calthella whereas a typical sensillum styloconicum with a sensory cone appears for the first time in lepidopteran evolution, in the sister-group. particularly Sabatinca sterops.
