The present paper is an histochemical study on the glucidics contents in the Bufo paracnemis oviduct. The oviduct secretions are important because these products constitute complex envelopes necessary for fertilization processes. Structurally and functionally the oviduct are divided into the following zones: pars recta; intermedial proximal zone; pars preconvolute and pars convolute. The secretory products of the epithelial and glandular cells are analyzed in the different sectors. In order to detect glucid, the following histochemical techniques were used the following tecnics: PAS-Schiff; Alcian Blue pH 2,5 and 0,5; Toluidin Blue pH 5,6. Heterogenic glyconjugates were located, preferably of the type sulfated and salilated in the epithelial cells along the oviduct and glandular cells in the preconvolute portion. Also were found phosphated and carboxylated proteogucans in some handles of the preconvolute and convolute sectors, and glucoproteins in the finish portion of the pars convolute. These different glyconjugates are exocited toward the oviductal lumen, configuring the extracellular matrix in multiple layers, which are deposited aroung the eggs when they transverse the oviduct.
