The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the metabolizable energy (ME) levels for Tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) from 30 to 180 g. Sixty young fishes were used with initial average weight of 30.17 g maintained in a mansory fish tank with 4 m3. A complete randomized experimental design was used with four treatments (2850, 3000, 3150 and 3300 kcal ME/kg of diet), three replicates and five fishes per experimental unity. The feeding corrected every 15 days was offered in a rate of 3% of biomass by day, divided in two meals. The increasing levels of ME in the diet increased fat and decreased water percentage in the carcass. The ME levels also influenced the rate of fat and protein deposition in the carcass, that presented a linear increase.
