Reproduction of Ditylenchus dipsaci in different host plants in Brazil Reproducao de Ditylenchus dipsaci Kuhn, 1857 Filipjev, 1936 em diferentes plantas hospedeiras no Brasil

Nematologia Brasileira. Junho; 241: 87-90

Six populations of Ditylenchus dipsaci recovered from dried garlic bulb tissue, originating from different Brazilian States, Minas Gerais (Inconfidentes and Ouro Fino), Rio Grande do Sul (Caxias do Sul and Flores da Cunha) and Santa Catarina (Cacador) and Sao Paulo (Botucatu), were inoculated on different host plants. Each plant was inoculated with 50 fourth-stage juveniles (J4) from each population. The evaluation was made 60 days after inoculation, by extracting nematodes using the tray technique. With regard to the different tested hosts, only Phlox and garlic allowed reproduction of some of the nematode populations. The population from Cacador (SC) was the only one which had multiplication in strawberry plants, at a very low rate.
