The revision of the European and West mediterranean taxa close to Bembidion (Peryphus) cruciatum leads to some new statements. B. cruciatum Dejean, B. hummleri Muller et B. bualei J. du Val are good species of which the two first ones have been largely confounded. B. subflavescens Antoine, described as a simple variety is also a good species closely related to B. andreae Fabricius. New combinations were stated: B. hummleri tyrrhenicum Jeannel on one hand, B. bualei polonicum Moller and B. bualei anglicanum Sharp on the other hand. The following synonyms were stated: B. hummleri Moller sensu novo = B. cruciatum adantis Antoine = B. cruciatum subtypicum Schuler. B. bualei bualei sensu novo = B. proximum Aubry = B. cruciatum dromioides J. du Val. B.cruciatum baenningeri Netolitzky et B. cruciatum albanicum Muller (= veselyi Fassati, nov. syn.) were here considered as simple local forms (natios) of B. bualei buatei.
