, : The birds of Aosta Valley update note Mise a jour des especes doiseaux connues en Vallee dAoste. Revue Valdotaine d'Histoire Naturelle, 57: 63-66

We report nine new species of birds previously not considered for Aosta Valley: Cattle Egret Bubulcus ibis, Bar-tailed Godwit Limosa lapponica, Common Tern Sterna hirundo, White-winged Black Tern Chlidonias leucopterus, Rock Pipit Anthus petrosus (recent field observations), Egyptian Vulture Neophron percnopterus (observation of 1984 which has been just now referred) and Spotted Eagle Aquila clanga, Barred Warbler Sylvia nisoria, Lapland Longspur Calcarius lapponicus (museum pieces reported on catalogues published in recent years). The total number of species known in the region amount now to 263.
