In this study, the housefly populations composed of flies collected from 11 different localities of Turkey (Ankara, Kastamonu, Kirikkale, Kirsehir, Samsun, Malatya, Giresun, Antakya, Trabzon, Rize. Denizli) were analyzed for resistance to methyl parathion and diazinon. Two dosages of methyl parathion and diazinon were applied to individuals of larvae and adult stages from each population. Dosages of 10 ppm and 15 ppm methyl parathion and a dosage of 2 ppm diazinon were applied to larvae. Dosages of 15 ppm and 25 ppm methyl parathion and dosages of 2 ppm and 3 ppm diazinon were applied to the adult stage. The results of the experiments showed that diazinon is more toxic than methyl parathion at the larvae and adult stage and generally larvae are found to be more susceptible than adults to these insecticides. Samsun and Kirikkale were found to have the most susceptible populations. Denizli and Antakya were found to have the most resistant populations to methyl parathion and diazinon insecticides.
