The aim of the present work was to study the qualitative and quantitative composition of the diet of the Imperial Cormorant on isla Deseada, Santa Cruz, Argentina. The content of 110 pellets and 29 stomachs was analyzed. The diet spectrum obtained through the analysis of pellets was very wide, involving mainly by fish (occurrence 78%), cephalopods mollusks (71%) and crustaceans (68%). Five new preys were identified for this specie and 18 taxa were determined, of which 11 pertained to fish, with Patagonotothen cornucola, Patagonotothen sima and Odontesthes sp. being the most frequent prey. Among mollusks, cephalopods (Octopus sp. and Loligo gahi) were the species better represented. In the stomach contents, nine different items were identified, of which six species pertained to fish, with a dominance of fuegian sprats (Sprattus fueguensis). The frequency of occurrence of fish in pellets was consistent with that observed in stomachs, although the variety of pellet items was wider.
