In order to ascertain the effects of fenoxycarb on honeybee brood, fully developed 10 frame hives were created with different doses of this insect growth regulator, applied in several ways. During a period of at least 2-3 months since the treatment, anomalous individuals were ejected from all the created hives. The most characteristic symptom due to the fenoxycarb is a white or pinkish crescent shaped mark on the internal margin of the compound eyes. The other observed anomalies could be mistaken for those due to the mite Varroa jacobsoni Oud.
