Third supplement on the mollusk fauna of East Tyrol Mollusca Gastropoda, Bivalvia Dritter Nachtrag zur Molluskenfauna Osttirols Mollusca Gastropoda Bivalvia

Third supplement on the mollusk fauna of East Tyrol Mollusca Gastropoda, Bivalvia Dritter Nachtrag zur Molluskenfauna Osttirols Mollusca Gastropoda Bivalvia

Berichte des Naturwissenschaftlich-Medizinischen Vereins in Innsbruck, 91: 129-155

Since the second supplement on the mollusk fauna of East Tyrol by KOFLER (1986), there was only singular checking on systematic species' registration. Nevertheless, another supplement has proved to be necessary. Regarding snails 121 species of 34 families were mentioned, regarding shells 9 species out of 2 families. First findings are only 6 (Bithynia tentaculata, Stagnicola fuscus, Physa heterostropha, Planorbarius corneus, Planorbis planorbis, Gyraulus parvus, and the big shell Anodonta anatina) - made in garden ponts which were researched in a detailled way for the first time: it is important to add that intentionally or unintentionally imported species could settle in natural water areas. For several species - i.e. Potamopyrgus antipodarum, Arion hortensis, and Euglesa tenuilineata - the probable spread is mentioned, because they were already found in neighbouring regions.
