Recent field work on the Triassic-Jurassic System boundary in New York Canyon (Nevada, USA) provides interesting new paleontological and stratigraphical results. Two ammonoid genera (Odoghertyceras and Pleuropsiloceras) and four new species are described. These results demonstrate greater biochronologic refinement and higher ammonoid diversity in the Nevada beds than coeval ones elsewhere, and support New York Canyon as the preferred locality for the system boundary global stratotype.
