Emergency diagnosis: hemoperitoneum caused by spontaneous rupture of hepatocarcinoma in a patient with liver cirrhosis

Journal de Chirurgie 127(11): 539-541

The author describes one case of spontaneous intraperitoneal hemorrhage secondary to the rupture of a liver-cell carcinoma complicating hepatic cirrhosis. The emergent surgical treatment consists in a subsegmentectomy. The discussion puts forwards three possibilities for treatment: surgical resection, arterial embolization and cryoapplication.
