CT localization and aspiration of postoperative pericardial fluid collection

CT localization and aspiration of postoperative pericardial fluid collection

Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography 7(4): 734-736

The authors report a case in which computed tomography (CT) was used to guide percutaneous needle aspiration of postoperative pericardial and paracardiac fluid collection. This application of CT has particular importance in postsurgical cardiac patients because of the loculated nature and occasional atypical location of fluid collections.
