Systolic blood pressures of 72 normal newborn infants were taken immediately, as well as 60, 120, 240 and 360 min after birth, using the transcutaneous Doppler ultrasonic technique. The mean values lie between 56 +/- 9 and 61 +/- 9 mm Hg and are presented graphically. This method is recommended for routine use in the delivery room.
