Mapping nursing intervention data into the Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC): process and rules

Mapping nursing intervention data into the Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC): process and rules

Nursing Diagnosis 8(4): 137-144

To investigate the feasibility of mapping nonstandardized nursing interventions into standardized language using the Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC). Data from a Midwest community hospital's computerized information system. Results demonstrate that nonstandardized nursing orders can be mapped into standardized language using the NIC.
