A model for iontophoretic transport is proposed which incorporates the effects of the applied electric field and the induced convective solvent flow, with a linear term to account for the effect of solvent flow on the permeant flux. The predictions of this model are compared with those of a model without the convective solvent flow term. The new model provides a more detailed framework to decouple and understand the interactions of the applied field and the solvent flow effects.
